Today we visited the AKRA Kart show at the Metrolina Fairgrounds in Charlotte, NC.  There were lots of interesting racing items and people willing to tell you all about their products.  Scott, from Chaindraggone loves to explain his products and I'm proud to say that I am a user of the Chaindraggone system.  SMC clutches is another company that really took the time to explain their clutches and the benefits of using one.  They have a very talented Thomas Fehring at the helm and Michelle Imbus did a great job demonstrating the new clutch.  Dixie Karting had some great deals on tires, so we bought some to get ready for the upcoming Maxxis Mid-Atlantic Series.  We are very happy to say that we now have SchuPower engines and we're ready to race!   I wish that I could remember all of the companies that were there and could give them all props for the inventions and engineering expertise that goes into some of their offerings, but I can't;  so if you're one of those companies, Thank You.

I've been very sick and busy since my last post.  The good news is that I have finally beat the dreaded Flu!  Last week I went down to Florida for Charles Edling's  (son) graduation from Florida Atlantic University (F.A.U.).  We had a a great time and were able to visit with family, some of which I haven't seen in 15 years.

Now to racing... I missed the first race at Cherokee Speedway but Jonathan went and raced in the Super Heavy Clone class.  He looked really good in the early going but broke a chain and dropped out of the race.  I have now purchased a Chain DragGONE in hopes of saving time with sprocket changes, having  a longer lifespan for my drivers and sprockets, and keeping chains longer.

This weekend is the King of the Concrete at the Greensboro Coliseum.  Although we will not be participating we will plan to attend on Saturday and support our fellow racers.  We will return to racing on Sunday at Cherokee Speedway competing in 3 classes with me (Richard) racing in two events and Jonathan racing in the other.

Wish us luck and support our sponsors!

This past weekend we raced at Hanging Rock Kartway in the King of the Rock series.  Richard qualified the Millineum Impulse kart that we just purchased on the pole.  Richard led every lap but came up short in the final 100 feet finishing 2nd in a photo finish.  After the race Richard said: "I should have run my normal line on the final lap instead of trying to take the lane away (from the people behind him) and I probably would have won".

Jonathan driving the same kart qualified 5th and raced hard to bring home an 8th place finish when all was done.  Unfortunately, we had the gearing wrong for Jonathan's race and feel that if it had been correct he would have been a top 3 finisher.

Special thanks to Horsepower by LEGGS - we race his engines every week but it was because of him that we got the gearing right for Richard to have such a strong run.

Please be sure to support our sponsors.  We personally use all of the products and have been satisfied customers for a long time.  Links to our sponsors can be found on the home page by clicking here.
