Well I just learned that there is a SC Maxxis series in the works. The final details are still being put into place as I understand, but it looks like the races will be at Hanging Rock Kartway in Kershaw, SC, Moree's 95/38 Kartway in Sellers,SC and Iron City Kartway in Blacksburg, SC.

We are really looking forward to the formal announcement and can't wait to compete in the series.
Today we visited the AKRA Kart show at the Metrolina Fairgrounds in Charlotte, NC.  There were lots of interesting racing items and people willing to tell you all about their products.  Scott, from Chaindraggone loves to explain his products and I'm proud to say that I am a user of the Chaindraggone system.  SMC clutches is another company that really took the time to explain their clutches and the benefits of using one.  They have a very talented Thomas Fehring at the helm and Michelle Imbus did a great job demonstrating the new clutch.  Dixie Karting had some great deals on tires, so we bought some to get ready for the upcoming Maxxis Mid-Atlantic Series.  We are very happy to say that we now have SchuPower engines and we're ready to race!   I wish that I could remember all of the companies that were there and could give them all props for the inventions and engineering expertise that goes into some of their offerings, but I can't;  so if you're one of those companies, Thank You.
The first Tristate Series race was this this weekend at Moree's 95/38 Paradise Speedway. The race brought in nearly 1000 entries and thousands of cheering spectators. The action was hot and the weather was cold. Daniel Armstrong would steal the show in the 100 lap main event taking home a cool $20,013 for his victory.

NASCAR legends Jimmy Hensley and Tommy Houston were in attendance as their young grandsons tool to the track.

This past weekend we took a trip to race at Possum Kingdom. Our karts were well prepared and ready to go. Unfortunately, the weather and the 2013 engine rules package didn't cooperate. We will be racing again soon and looking to win!
I've been very sick and busy since my last post.  The good news is that I have finally beat the dreaded Flu!  Last week I went down to Florida for Charles Edling's  (son) graduation from Florida Atlantic University (F.A.U.).  We had a a great time and were able to visit with family, some of which I haven't seen in 15 years.

Now to racing... I missed the first race at Cherokee Speedway but Jonathan went and raced in the Super Heavy Clone class.  He looked really good in the early going but broke a chain and dropped out of the race.  I have now purchased a Chain DragGONE in hopes of saving time with sprocket changes, having  a longer lifespan for my drivers and sprockets, and keeping chains longer.

This weekend is the King of the Concrete at the Greensboro Coliseum.  Although we will not be participating we will plan to attend on Saturday and support our fellow racers.  We will return to racing on Sunday at Cherokee Speedway competing in 3 classes with me (Richard) racing in two events and Jonathan racing in the other.

Wish us luck and support our sponsors!
It's Wednesday and I am excited to be going racing this Sunday at Cherokee Speedway. The track is 3/8 mile in length and is normally used as a stock car racing track. The last time I raced a kart on track this size was in Punta Gorda, FL back in the '90's.

This should be an exciting day of racing with drafting being a key factor in who will win.

Wish us luck and support our sponsors!
The big race id going on now in Carnesville, GA.  Thanksgiving Thunder is what they call it.  We are not racing this weekend but will attend tomorrow to watch and pick up some parts for
Tomorrow morning we will head to Carolina Motorsports Park to race on the paved oval track.  This track is actually shaped like a triangle and is really fun to drive.  We have only practiced there one time but feel that we have what it takes to be competitive.  Super excited and ready for bed, it's going to be an early morning.
