Who We Are
Edling Racing is a family team consisting of two full time racers Richard and Jonathan, and one part time racer, Charles based out of Indian Land, SC.
Richard 44, began racing in his youth, and has raced many different types of vehicles including stock cars, open wheel cars, off road vehicles and of course, karts. Prior to the summer of 2011 the last time Richard competed in a race was at the WKA Manufacturers Cup Nationals at 103rd Street Complex in Jacksonville, FL in 1997. He is currently competing in North and South Carolina and is racing the full season at Hanging Rock Kartway. In his spare time he enjoys riding his Harley and watching/attending NASCAR races whenever possible. Richard is a professional consultant for an International company and an Independent Amsoil Dealer.
Richard's #36 is a tribute to his grandpa, Alton McKinney who raced the number in their home state of Florida in Hialeah and Medley during the 60's.
Jonathan 20, began racing full time in karts in 2011, making the change from mechanic to driver. While away from the race track he attends York Technical College in addition to working as an auto technician. Jonathan enjoys rebuilding motorcycles in his spare time. He is currently competing in North and South Carolina and is racing the full season at Hanging Rock Kartway.
Jonathan's #63 is the reverse of Alton's number, and a way to keep the family numbers together while racing in the same class.
Charles 23, began racing Karts at age 5 in a Kid Kart on paved ovals and road courses in 1994. Still living in Florida he recently graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in English and works part time in youth sports while pursuing a career as a teacher. He is a part time racer at Edling Racing, and will be involved in any race that scheduling allows. Charles runs a sports and entertainment website that you can find at http://nowse.wordpress.com.
Charles' number has always been 36 but if there is a conflict, the number will be a variation of the numbers 3 and 6.
